My Hair Re-Growth Ritual
Hair loss is something people rarely talk about until they experience it themselves. For me, it arrived alongside my autoimmune condition, Hashimoto’s. I started noticing strands on my pillow each morning and seeing far more hair than usual in the shower. Once I began speaking openly about it with clients at our salon (Hairfields in Childwall), I realised just how common it actually is.
Over time I’ve learned there’s no miracle cure — consistency is what really makes the difference.
One routine I’ve remained loyal to is the Nioxin Scalp & Hair Thickening System 4. It’s a simple three-step routine: shampoo, conditioner and a scalp treatment. I use it once a week, usually mid-week. The shampoo has a cool, minty sensation that leaves the scalp feeling incredibly fresh and clean.
Daily scalp care has become a real must for me, and that’s where the Kérastase Genesis Serum comes in. I apply it each evening before bed, concentrating on my scalp around my hairline and temples. The formula is lightweight, absorbs quickly and never leaves a greasy residue. The improvement was clear — regrowth around my roots was noticeably longer where I had been applying the serum.
At the weekend, I use the Kérastase Genesis shampoo and masque — my go-to routine when I want my hair to look its absolute best. Hair recovery takes patience, but looking after your scalp and staying consistent with the right products can make a real difference.
Tan: My Go-To Glow
For everyday colour, I like Garnier Summer Body Gradual Tan. It hydrates the skin while slowly building a natural-looking glow — perfect for work or daytime plans.
When I want something more noticeable, I switch to the tinted tanning lotion from Vita Liberata. The colour is a beautiful golden tone rather than anything orange, and it blends effortlessly without streaking.
For my face, there’s one product I always return to: the Ambre Solaire self-tan spray in medium. I apply it two or three times a week before bed, and by morning my skin has a soft, sun-kissed glow.
Before applying fresh tan, I always use the Rose & Caramel exfoliating tan remover with gloves — apply it, leave it on for about a minute, then rinse, and old tan lifts away effortlessly.
