To reach the spa, I wandered through the magnificent Palm Court Bar, its soaring ceilings and golden glow setting the tone for what was to come. Descending the lift, I arrived at the spa reception — a serene sanctuary tucked away beneath the bustle of the city. The moment I stepped through the doors, the world outside simply melted away.

I had booked the Midweek at The Municipal package, which included:
- A 50-minute spa treatment of my choice
- Two hours’ access to the Spa & Thermal Journey
- Robe, towel, and a Municipal tote bag and flip flops to take home
The team were incredibly welcoming and took the time to show me around the facilities before I settled in to unwind.

The spa itself is breathtaking — a 16-metre pool glistening beneath soft light, surrounded by a suite of thermal experiences:

When it was time for my treatment, I chose The Time Piece — a ritual designed to let time stand still. Beginning with a soothing copper foot bath, it flowed into a beautifully intuitive upper body and scalp massage. Using hot salt rocks, creamy scrubs, and fragrant oils, my therapist combined expert stretching and massage techniques to release deep tension and restore balance. Every movement felt considered, every detail precise — a treatment that truly lived up to its name.
Beyond the Basics
Beyond the thermal journey and treatments, The Municipal Spa also offers immersive Sound Bath experiences — deeply meditative sessions that use soothing vibrations to calm the mind and realign the senses.
