A new performing arts conservatoire has opened in one of Liverpool’s most iconic waterfront landmarks, bringing world-class training to the heart of the city.
Acclaimed choreographer Nazene Langfield has launched NDHQ at the historic Port of Liverpool Building on the Pier Head, creating a bespoke centre of excellence for aspiring performers.
The new space unites two leading institutions — Dynamix Performing Arts College and the Nazene Danielle School of Performing Arts — under one roof, offering elite training to some of the Liverpool City Region’s most talented young performers.
Dynamix, with more than 25 years of experience, has built a strong reputation for preparing students for major industry opportunities, including West End productions and UK tours. Students also perform as the professional ensemble in major pantomimes at St Helens Theatre Royal and the Epstein Theatre, entertaining audiences of over 100,000 each year.
Beyond theatre, performers have appeared at large-scale live events such as Clubland Festival and Reminisce, while graduates continue to secure roles internationally on major cruise lines.
The Nazene Danielle School of Performing Arts provides a full-time alternative to mainstream education for students aged eight to 16. Mornings focus on academic studies, while afternoons and evenings are dedicated to intensive performing arts training, supporting both creativity and wellbeing.
Nazene Langfield, who has nearly 35 years of experience in the industry, began her career at a young age, performing at the Liverpool Empire Theatre and training with the National Youth Music Theatre. Over the past 25 years, she has built a successful career as a choreographer, teacher and adjudicator, working with leading organisations and delivering international training programmes.
Speaking about the launch, Nazene said the move marks a proud moment in her career and a major step forward in supporting the next generation of talent in Liverpool. NDHQ aims to inspire young performers in a space that reflects the creative energy of the city, right at the heart of its world-famous waterfront.
