It’s that time of year again — everyone’s asking: “Pete, what hair trends are going to be big this spring/summer?”
I keep a close eye on awards season and runway looks, but the reality is, what you see on the red carpet doesn’t always translate into everyday, wearable styles for the average guy. What I do is take inspiration from those high-fashion looks and bring them down to earth — making them practical, low-maintenance, and easy to live with.
MOD/MULLET – Inspired by Jacob Elordi
Soft, textured, and easy to manage. This cut works best when it’s done properly — get the structure right, and it practically styles itself. Just a small amount of product keeps everything in place without overdoing it.
SOFT BUZZ – Inspired by Jake Gyllenhaal
A more relaxed version of the classic buzz cut. Still short, but less harsh — no heavy scalp exposure. A skilled barber can create this using scissors or clippers, and a touch of natural product gives it a clean, effortless finish.
THE FLOW – Inspired by Glen Powell
Perfect if you want a bit of length without the hassle of long hair. It sits right in that middle ground — easy, natural, and low-maintenance. The key is working with your natural growth, not against it. Great for finer hair too.
OLD MONEY – Inspired by Jamie Dornan
This has easily been the most requested look lately, especially from guys in their 30s and 40s. It’s all about looking sharp without trying too hard — clean, well-groomed, and quietly confident. Think effortless style rather than chasing trends.
The Theme
There’s a clear theme running through all of these: softer, looser, more natural styles. Well-cut, but never overdone. Effortlessly cool. These are the kind of looks that work anywhere — whether you’re behind a desk, out at a gig, or grabbing a drink at a bar opening.
Less is definitely more right now. A solid cut, a bit of product, and something that grows out well. The classics aren’t going anywhere — but if you’re looking to stay current this season, it might be time to go a little softer, a little looser… and a lot more wearable.
